Did you know that one in six people struggle with fertility or may need access to fertility care to build their family?
This year, the week of April 21 to 27 marks Canadian Infertility Awareness Week.
Mathew Leonardi, advanced gynecological surgeon, sonologist and assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University, explains that some people with endometriosis struggle to conceive naturally, due to factors such as distorted pelvic anatomy and inflammation.
“It is essential to know the extent of endometriosis to understand which are the barriers to conception and, by extension, the best treatments,” says Leonardi.
In this video, Leonardi shares what you need to know about endometriosis and fertility.
