Approximately one out of four individuals are estimated to have latent mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). This means that these individuals may develop an active form of the disease at any time and require antibiotic treatment. In this video, Ana Tomljenovic-Berube provides background information on tuberculosis. Dr. Tomljenovic-Berube is an assistant professor in the McMaster School of Interdisciplinary Sciences.
