For a second time, Brian Timmons, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, has been recognized as an exceptional emerging researcher in Canada.
Timmons’ Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in the field of Child Health and Exercise Medicine has been renewed for a second five-year term; a position for which McMaster will receive $100,000 annually.
Timmon’s research is conducted through the Child Health and Exercise Medicine Program (CHEMP) Lab; where he and Dr. Joyce Obeid investigate the role of physical activity and fitness in children of all health statuses and abilities. This knowledge supports the public and healthcare providers at McMaster Children’s Hospital to optimize physical activity in young people.
