The video then dives deeper into the role of the endocrine system, as well as a specific example of endocrine signalling within our bodies demonstrated by the insulin signalling pathway.
Communication is important in our daily lives, not only for ourselves, but for the cells that make up our bodies as well. Cell signalling is a vital concept to understand in the field of science, especially in medical research. This video takes a look at the importance of cell signalling in the body, specifically focusing on the endocrine system. The video defines key components of cellular signalling and briefly describes autocrine, paracrine, and endocrine signalling. We then explain the three main steps involved in cellular signalling (reception, signal transduction, and the response). The video then dives deeper into the role of the endocrine system, as well as a specific example of endocrine signalling within our bodies demonstrated by the insulin signalling pathway.
