Speaker series tackles anti-black racism and oppression in health care

Bridging the Gap is a new 5-part speaker series hosted by McMaster Pediatrics that addresses anti-black racism and oppression in health care; representation in medical education; issues in Indigenous child health, and more.
Bridging the Gap is a 6-part series hosted by McMaster Pediatrics that addresses issues related to anti-black racism and oppression in health care; representation in medical education; issues in Indigenous child health, and more.
The new series, part of the Department’s weekly Grand Rounds, is presented by physicians in Pediatrics as well as subject-matter experts, including Bernice Downey, Associate Dean of Indigenous Health at McMaster University. Topics include:
- Bridging the Gap I: Anti-Black Racism in Medicine
- Bridging the Gap II: Anti-Racism and Representation in Medical Education
- Bridging the Gap III: Indigenous Health Inequity
The series continues throughout the spring. All recordings are available on the McMaster Pediatrics video channel
