Medical Grand Rounds: What is new in Obesity Medicine?

One of the main objectives of the Grand Rounds was to Understand the state of the obesity epidemic in Canada.
The topic of the Medical Grand Rounds organised by Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) on Thursday, January 20, 22, was: What is new in Obesity Medicine?. The speakers were PGY3s: Abdullah Alalaiyan, Amena Alhammadi, and Alexandra Kobza.
The main objectives were to:
- Understand the state of the obesity epidemic in Canada
- Review how to approach and engage a patient with obesity
- Evaluate the evidence for lifestyle modifications in the treatment of obesity
- Evaluate the efficacy of various pharmacotherpies and surgeries available for obesity in Canada.
