Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic and progressive disease of the central nervous system that results in severe physical, cognitive and neurological disabilities for life. This video explores the role that rehabilitation has played for people with multiple sclerosis. The video provides an overview of multiple sclerosis and discusses the empirical findings regarding the effects of physical therapy on multiple sclerosis. Next, Julia Di Bussolo, a registered kinesiologist at PACE McMaster, provides insight into what PACE is and how rehabilitation could have a positive impact on individuals with multiple sclerosis. Lastly, Bruce, a kindergarten teacher with multiple sclerosis, shares his experience with rehabilitation, including his time at PACE McMaster.
