[A Message from ATS Leadership]
This video promotes the American Thoracic Society (ATS) postgraduate course PG26 called “Jump start: A beginner’s guide to drug and company development in an academic setting”. Join us on May 16, 2020 from 8:00am to 4:00pm at the ATS international conference in Philadelphia to learn how to translate your key academic discoveries into novel drugs for lung diseases. Spend a day with experts and learn in interactive sessions and discussions about the most relevant topics for basic, translational and clinical researchers. Work in groups and attend the workshop to make your own pitch slide deck.
PG26 is organized by the ATS RCMB Innovation and entrepreneurial working group.

This video was designed by McMaster University students in the Advanced Science Communication and Knowledge Translation Program (Health science 4D03 – graduating year 2020), in collaboration with Dr Milica Vukmirovic, from ATS RCMB working group and the Firestone Institute for Respiratory Health at St. Joseph’s Hospital-McMaster University. The purpose of the 4D03 class is to work in a small cross-disciplinary group and collaborate with a community partner to develop educational material on various scientific topics.
