Looks at the ability of antioxidants in green tea to detoxify the body of accumulated toxins, providing health benefits.
Every day the human body retains and accumulates toxins. Since it is a time-consuming process, few of us take the time to cleanse our bodies of toxins. At some point in your life, you may have heard about the green tea detox. The antioxidants in green tea can detoxify the body of accumulated toxins, providing health benefits. Antioxidants help prevent or stop cell damage within the body by reducing the amount of reactive oxygen that can cause medical problems. Studies conducted by the American Association for Cancer Research show that green tea increases the production of enzymes that help fight cancer chemicals. However, green tea should be taken only two to three times a day since the minerals in green tea can damage liver cells.
