The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in unprecedented and often devastating new circumstances for health care providers (HCPs), leading to an increased need for mental health prevention and early interventions efforts to support this critical workforce.
The collaboration between Homewood Health Centre, McMaster University, and Homewood Research Institute (HRI) has facilitated the development and implementation of evidence-based programs and customised clinical practices to support the mental health and well-being of HCPs.
This free, one-hour symposium will feature:
* Moderation by Dr. Margaret McKinnon, principal investigator of McMaster’s Healthcare Salute project
* A research presentation about the collaboration and ensuing clinical recommendations by Dr. Kim Ritchie of the Trauma & Recovery Research Unit at McMaster University
* A fireside chat featuring clinicians from Homewood Health Centre on their experience creating and implementing mental health programming for health care providers, as well as their insights on the way forward
An audience Q&A session will follow the fireside chat. You will have opportunities to have your questions about this exciting collaboration answered.
