Dr. Selina Mudavanhu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Studies & Media Arts at McMaster University and a dedicated advocate for decolonizing education. Her teaching philosophy, inspired by thinkers like Paulo Freire, bell hooks and decolonial scholars like Ramon Grosfoguel, Walter Mignolo, Nelson Maldonado-Torres and Sabelo Gatsheni-Ndlovu challenges traditional and colonial approaches to teaching and learning, emphasizing critical thinking and engaged pedagogy. She has co-edited, Decolonizing Media and Communication Studies Education in Sub-Saharan Africa and published chapters and journal articles on decolonizing education.
