Undergraduate Medical Education Program

McMaster’s Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) Program selects candidates who demonstrate the potential to become Canada’s future healthcare leaders. The program is designed to introduce students to a broad range of human health problems and provide early exposure to patients. The medical program has no single background which offers ideal preparation for the practice of medicine. Students with university education, in any discipline, are encouraged to apply. McMaster admits a total of 217 students, who are then distributed to our three campuses in Hamilton, Waterloo and Niagara.

UGME's reach and impact are impressive, with over 4,000 faculty spread across two distributed campuses and four clinical education campuses in Southwestern Ontario.
