Dr. Aristeidis Katsanos Becomes a Fellow of the Canadian Stroke Consortium

Dr. Aristeidis Katsanos, Assistant Professor in the Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine, becomes a Fellow of the Canadian Stroke Consortium (CSC) and a Scholar in Stroke Medicine after successfully completing the newly launched Canadian Stroke Consortium Fellowship Program. He is the fist fellow from McMaster’s Stroke Fellowship Training Program to complete the CSC Fellowship Program.
The CSC National Stroke Fellowship Certification Program facilitates standardization of advanced stroke training and evaluation of trainees across Canada. The program serves to further strengthen the excellence of stroke medicine specialty training in Canada and to enable fellows trained in Canada to complete their fellowship with an official certification from the CSC.
Dr. Katsanos joined the Department of Medicine as a Clinical Fellow for Stroke Medicine Program in the Division of Neurology, in July 2019. He was appointed Assistant Professor (Special) in October 2021. He is also a PHRI Investigator.
Dr. Katsanos has actively participated in numerous research projects and international collaborations on acute stroke treatment and secondary stroke prevention and has published over 200 peer-reviewed medical journal research papers which have appeared in high impact stroke journals. In addition, he serves in the editorial board of several medical Journals, including the Stroke and the European Stroke Journal.
