Day of your pulmonary function procedure
Shows the pulmonary function test that measures how lungs take in and release air.
This video shows the pulmonary function test that measures how well lungs take in and release air. The diffusion capacity of oxygen from an individual’s lungs into the bloodstream can be determined by using spirometry and measuring how much air is exhaled. Spirometry is a standard lung volume test to diagnosis asthma. It involves a spirometer and breathing tube to measure a person’s lung volume during normal and active breathing. The video presents a detailed run-through of a spirometry test.
