Anabolic steroids: Friend or foe?

The fitness trend is growing in popularity among youth. Raising physical awareness has been a great success in reducing chronic diseases in our society. However, this also increases social environmental stress that affects our audiences. A lot of attention has been given to our social environment and social media that influences the actual expectation of a healthy physique in male and female athletes, whether their physiques are naturally attainable or unattainable without the use of synthetic steroids. Many young uneducated audiences may become discouraged after failing to achieve training goals and resort to using synthetic steroids. Anabolic steroids also are known as anabolic-androgenic steroids are synthetically made hormone- testosterone. Steroids have different kinds of effects on the body: androgenic steroids lead to deepening of the voice and hair growth while anabolic steroids lead to increases in muscle mass and bone density/growth.
