Promotes general awareness of Lyme disease and the need to check yourself for ticks when hiking
Lyme disease is becoming a national threat to both human and animal health in Ontario and North America. This video hopes to bring attention to the severity of this issue. Warming temperatures as a result of climate change are causing tick populations to sky-rocket and with more ticks comes more disease. Specifically, the increase in black-legged tick/deer tick (ixodes scapularis) population results in the increased prevalence of Lyme disease. The video not only raises awareness of Lyme disease but also outlines what people can do to protect themselves and their families.
