Intuitively, we know that consuming laundry detergent is extremely harmful to our bodies and may result in severe, fatal consequences. However, a new internet challenge is calling upon teenagers and misguided young adults to eat Tide Pods, which has sent thousands to the emergency room. The meme is that brightly coloured laundry detergent pods look so like delicious fruity candy that maybe we should, you know, eat them. This video looks at medical complications that result from ingesting laundry detergent and focuses on pulmonary necrosis and inflammation. It also presents effective therapeutic procedures to rescue patients.
