Technology for the Visually Impaired

In an expansion of the Google Glass project, researchers at McPERG will be collaborating with fifth year engineering students to develop a device to assist the visually impaired.
Though great strides were reached with the Google glass, researchers at the McMaster Pediatric Eye Research Group have now extended their research by collaborating with McMaster University’s Faculty of Engineering. More specifically, fifth-year undergraduate Engineering students in the Electrical & Computer Engineering department will develop a device to help the visual impaired safely navigate around their external environment.
