In order to facilitate the ability for researchers, staff and students to move easily between the Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Learning and Discovery (MDCL) and the Health Sciences Centre (HSC), changes in screening and masking protocols for MDCL are being introduced. The changes to enter both buildings begin Monday, June 8 for all McMaster faculty, staff and students.
Individuals entering and working in both the HSC and MDCL will be required to wear a mask, in alignment with the universal masking in place within hospital settings.
As well, people entering both buildings will need to be screened. This screening will be done by completion of an online survey, which may be found at https://fhsscreening.mcmaster.ca . This may be done on your smart phone at home before coming in to quicken the process or it may be done manually at the entrance screening desk. Upon completion, the survey will display a result of green to enter or red to stay or return home. If the tool is not completely ready on June 8, manual screening is available at the screening stations.
To enter the HSC (also known as the MUMC), McMaster faculty, staff and students should continue to enter through the screening by the red elevators in the underground parking garage. Please use the new screening station designated for individuals from McMaster.
To enter MDCL, McMaster faculty, staff and students need to use the north entrance by the Atrium and go through a screening process. Other doors will be closed to entry.
These screening desks will be manned Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Outside of these hours, individuals wishing to enter MDCL will need to use the HSC underground garage screening station and walk across the second-floor bridge from the HSC to MDCL.
A mask will be provided at the screening station, or you may bring your own mask. The mask must be worn within the buildings unless you are in an office on your own.
