Project Earth breathes: The Greek philosophers
This video explores the evolution of the theory of breathing including the contributions of Hippocrates, Galen, Vesalius, Harvey and Lower. It provides an introduction to the history of breathing from primitive man’s preconception to our current model of breathing finalized by the end of the 18th century. All content was adapted from “The Ins and Outs of Breathing — How We Learnt about the Body’s Most Vital Functions” by Dr. Norman L. Jones.
