In this video presentation, Dr. Christopher Patterson speaks about clinical care of pneumonia in the elderly.
Objectives
- Describe delirium as a consequence of acute illness in older people
- Recognize deconditioning as a preventable problem in older people
- Investigate current hypotheses about why we live as long as we do, why there is a gender difference in the aging trajectory and why our health fails with age.
- Understand the role of chronic inflammation in the aging process and how it contributes to age-related diseases such as dementia.
