Congratulations to Mrs. Jan Taylor for being the recipient of the 2021 Program Administrator Award for Excellence
We are very pleased to celebrate the honor of Mrs. Jan Taylor being named the recipient of the 2021 Program Administrator Award for Excellence by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. This award was established to recognize a postgraduate specialty residency program administrator who has demonstrated a commitment to enhancing residency education as evidenced by excellence beyond their program. Jan was selected among a group of outstanding candidates from across the country in a broad range of specialties.
Mrs. Taylor has supported the Internal Medicine Residency Program as a Program Administrator since 2011. She is a devoted professional who has contributed to the Department of Medicine in earlier roles as an Academic Contributions Coordinator and Special Projects Coordinator.
Her nomination was enthusiastically supported by both residents and professional peers. Although each academic year introduces new challenges, Mrs. Taylor has demonstrated tremendous leadership in navigating our program into a position of greater strength during the disruption of the pandemic. She is truly the heart and the soul of our program.
Congratulations, Mrs. Taylor!
Lori Whitehead, Professor of Medicine; Leslie Martin, Director, Internal Medicine Residency Program; Residency Education Committee Members: Sharlene Honaizer, Christine Knight, Andrea Mitchell, Susan Serro from the Residency Office, McMaster University
