Several enhancements geared toward improvement in efficiencies and access to trainee data have been made to the MedSIS CBME module. These updates were recently demonstrated at the October CBME Retreat. The current versions of our training resources available on the MedSIS website: https://healthsci.mcmaster.ca/medsis/training/cbme will be updated as soon as possible however the enhancements are outlined below so you can begin to take advantage of them right away. Once resources are updated we’ll let you know.
ASSESSMENTS TAB
- New filter ‘Completion Date’ allows users to filter on a date range of when assessments were completed (ie. show me all assessments completed from Jul 1-Sep 30, 2020).
- Ability to pull collated and aggregate reports of assessments and an export of the assessment table details (coming soon: ability to pull collated report by EPA).
PROGRAM EVALUATIONS TAB
- Displays a breakdown of program evaluations required to be completed by the trainee.
EVENTS TAB
- Displays the overall summary of event attendance (coming soon: overall attendance can be filtered by date range).
- Lists all sessions the trainee has been registered into by the program administrator in the MedSIS Event Manager (attendance status of N/A means session has not happened yet).
- Available filters to sort sessions by event attendance, date range etc.
- Displays the trainee’s participation status: participant or presenter (coming soon: ability to view an aggregate of the presenter feedback for sessions the trainee presented at).
- Ability to export details of the Event table.
ACTIVITIES TAB
- Activities (Procedures) were previously listed under the Assessments tab but has been moved to their own tab in preparation for upcoming enhancements to the current activity/procedure log.
LEARNER SUMMARY REPORT TAB AND ENHANCED FUNTIONALITY
- The function to run a learner summary report was previously listed on the left menu of the CBME module but has been moved to it’s own tab for each individual trainee.
- The report can now be run by date range. When running a report by date range, the # of forms, attempt breakdown, milestones and comments will reflect forms completed within the date range specified. The progress percentages for stages and EPAs will reflect the trainees CURRENT progress – progress as of the date the report is run (coming soon: percentages to reflect the trainee’s progress as of the date range specified when running the report)
- When users run a report, an aggregate of the overall competence score for ITARs and WBAs is displayed. Users can now click on the ITARs and WBAs to display an aggregate of all questions on the form. NOTE: If your WBAs are not displayed in the report please let us know.
