Thank you for all those who attended the MacGlObAS Resident Seminar, “Globalizing Your Residency: Preparing for Success in Global Surgery” with keynote, Dr. Rachel Spitzer from the University of Toronto, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
We had an excellent showing, including faculty, residents, and medical students – as well as the Department of Surgery Chair Susan Reid was in attendance.
Residents Drs. Andrew Giles, Heather Thomas, Nikki Hill, and Caitlin VanDeCappelle presented on various topics in Global Surgery, including the challenges and strategies for research, and how to prepare for a successful international elective.
Dr. Rachel Spitzer presented, “From Zimbabwe to Canada, to Kenya, and back again”, with her experience from being a Medical Student at McMaster to faculty at the University of Toronto, and helping to organize the OB/GYN’s partnership with MOI University in Kenya. Dr. Spitzer’s keynote address can be see here: Key Note Recording
Thank you to all those attended, and we look forward to you joining us at Joint Grand Rounds in May 2019!
