GSU awards for Sweetman, Martens

Arthur Sweetman and Terry Martens were honoured by Master’s Graduate Student Association on Nov. 14, 2019 for outstanding work. Sweetman received the The President’s Award for Excellence in Graduate Supervision, while Martens was presented with the Graduate Student Award for Contributions by Non-Academic Staff.
Congratulations to Arthur Sweetman and Terry Martens, who were honoured by Master’s Graduate Student Association on Nov. 14, 2019 for outstanding work.
The President’s Award for Excellence in Graduate Supervision was awarded to Sweetman, shown left in photo above, who is a Professor in the Department of Economics; the Ontario Research Chair in Health Human Resources and a CHEPA member.
Martens received the Graduate Student Award for Contributions by Non-Academic Staff, which honours the extraordinary contributions that members of McMaster University’s support staff extend to its graduate students. She is the administrative assistant to several CHEPA faculty members and to the Health Policy PhD program.
Additionally, HP PhD student Valentina Antonipillai was a finalist for the Mary Keyes Award for Outstanding Leadership and Service to McMaster. The award acknowledges graduate students who give their time, spirit and energy to McMaster student societies, university committees and/or governing bodies.
