Spring convocation ceremonies for McMaster University’s School of Nursing and Faculty of Health Sciences are going ahead in an online format.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on the day of their convocation, graduands will be receiving a personalized video and entrance into an online celebration website with video messages from university officials and their valedictorian as well as other greetings and information. The package will be sent to their McMaster email address.
There will be 533 nursing students from the nursing school consortium of McMaster with Conestoga and Mohawk colleges and 14 graduate nursing students conferred their degrees on Wednesday, May 20.
A total of 618 students from the undergraduate medicine, midwifery, and Bachelor of Health Sciences programs as well as graduate students of several health sciences programs who receive the convocation package on Thursday, May 21. The annual Hippocratic Oath Ceremony for the 199 graduating medical students will be held online on Thursday morning.
All of the graduands will also be invited to an in-person convocation, and an opportunity to cross the stage at the FirstOntario Centre, which will be scheduled later.
