Dr. Jennifer Tsang Awarded Department of Medicine Annual Award for Associate Professors

Congratulations to Dr. Jennifer Tsang on being awarded the Department of Medicine Annual Award 2021 for Associate Professors. Dr. Tsang achieved promotion to Associate Professor with CAWAR.
Dr. Tsang was appointed to Associate Professor in the Division of Critical Care Medicine, Department of Medicine effective July 1, 2020. Prior to the appointment she was Assistant Professor from July 2015.
She completed an Honors Bachelor of Science in Immunology (Gold Medalist) at the University of Toronto, and a Doctor of Medicine (Cum Laude) from University of Ottawa in 2003. She also completed the Internal Medicine Residency Program at University of Toronto in 2006. This was followed by a completion of a Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine in 2008. In 2013, she completed the Clinical Investigator Program and obtained her Doctor of Philosophy Degree at the Institute of Medical Science, University of Toronto. Dr. Tsang is a board certified internist, intensivist and obesity-specialist based at Niagara Health.
Since joining the Department of Medicine as an Assistant Clinical Professor in 2013, Dr. Tsang has supervised students and residents from the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, Niagara Regional Campus. She is the Physician Research Lead at Niagara Health and the Co-Founder of the Canadian Critical Care Research Network. She also sits on the Steering Committee of the Network of COVID-19 Clinical Trials Networks and the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group Platform Trial.
Dr. Tsang has published over twenty-five peer reviewed journal articles and she holds multiple research grants. Her academic work focuses on the engagement of community hospitals in clinical research.
