Dr. Alfonos Iorio is the latest McMaster University community member to join the Michael G. DeGroote Initiative for Innovation in Healthcare (MGDII) College of Health Inventors.
Dr. Alfonos Iorio is the latest McMaster University community member to join the Michael G. DeGroote Initiative for Innovation in Healthcare (MGDII) College of Health Inventors.
Iorio, a professor in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact, joins the ranks of 31 McMaster colleagues who have interest and success in healthcare entrepreneurship and innovation.
Amongst his many accomplishments, Iorio developed the Web-Available Population Pharmacokinetic Software (WAPPS-Hemo). Healthcare professionals who treat patients with hemophilia can use the WAPPS-Hemo platform to collect advice from a network of approximately 500 hemophilia treatment centres worldwide to create a customized treatment and prevention plan for patients. The solution is a leader in its field and has been licensed to several pharmaceutical companies.
