Area Postrema Syndrome – Did you watch the movie “Hiccup”? This was the topic of the Chair’s Medical Grand Rounds held on Thursday, January 6, 2022. The keynote speaker was Dr. Eslam Shosha, Assistant Professor, Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine.
The main objectives were to:
- Identify area postrema syndrome (APS) (Intractable nausea, vomiting, hiccups)
- Recognize APS, diagnostic criteria and severity scale
- Highlighting GIT work up results for AP
- Management strategy for APS
