Understand the small effects delivered by most efforts to improve healthcare quality
Appreciate that the same applies to most biomedical research – most therapies don’t pan out, and those that do typically deliver marginal gains
Recognize the importance of fundamentally changing the research and policy changes we pursue in order to avoid becoming complacent as the world burns around us.
