Researchers, trainees, clinicians, social service providers, stakeholders and members of the aging research community are invited to join this Collaborative Conversation with Dr. Maggie MacNeil, Postdoctoral Fellow, EMBOLDEN Study and McMaster School of Nursing, with research partner and EMOLDEN Strategic Guiding Council member Aref Alshaikhahmed.
Dr. MacNeil will discuss evaluating the impact of engaging older adults and service providers as research partners in the co-design of a community mobility-promoting program: a mixed methods developmental evaluation study, presenting results from her paper published in Research Involvement and Engagement. She will be joined by co-author and research partner Aref Alshaikhahmed.
Trainees are invited to stay after the talk from 1 to 2 p.m. for an in-person workshop called “It’s not just the destination that matters : Documenting and publishing your research journey.” In this workshop, moderated by MIRA Research Manager, Audrey Patocs, speakers MacNeil and Alshaikhahmed will discuss the process of writing and publishing this type of paper, and their own journeys in research partnership.
