The CHAIR'S MEDICAL GRAND ROUNDS was held on October 7. The topic was: Experience of healthcare providers during a global pandemic:  Understanding and protecting the well-being of frontline clinicians.
  • Objectives:
  • Review what we have learned regarding the short and long-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic from the lens of a healthcare provider.
  •  Discuss the impacts that providers have experienced in the wake of the pandemic including moral injury, trauma, and burnout, as well as how this may manifest in both professional and personal domains.
  • Consider specific challenges faced by medical leaders, physicians, and learners.
Explore evidence-based interventions that would offer needed support to healthcare providers and trainees.
Speakers included Drs. Tara Riddell, Margaret McKinnon and Sabina Nagpal, professors in Psychiatry & Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University.

The presentation is available on the Department's YouTube Channel.
