Join the University of Manchester's Dr. Sophia Ananiadou on Tuesday, February 21 from 8-9 a.m. for her talk titled "Automating systematic reviews using text mining".
Description of Dr. Ananiadou's talk:
Systematic reviews are an important evidence-based tool for health applications. Unfortunately, the process of conducting a systematic review, search and screening is not only time consuming but also resource intensive. Searching through multiple databases for relevant studies results in a huge volume of articles to be screened. Automating the process of search, screening and synthesis results in gains in efficiency and productivity.
The National Centre for Text Mining developed RobotAnalyst, which is based on a combination of machine learning, active learning and NLP, to support the development and update of systematic reviews.
