The Health Research Methodology (HRM) Program in the Faculty of Health Sciences provides training at the MSc and PhD level. The goal is to produce graduates with research methods skills that enable them to “push the boundaries of knowledge” relevant to improving clinical practice (including medical education research), strengthening health systems and enhancing population health.

The HRM Program celebrates over 40 years of excellence and innovation in the training of clinical epidemiologists and health systems researchers.

Dr. Alfonos Iorio is the latest McMaster University community member to join the Michael G. DeGroote Initiative for Innovation in Healthcare (MGDII) College of Health Inventors.

Iorio, a professor in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact, joins the ranks of 31 McMaster colleagues who have interest and success in healthcare entrepreneurship and innovation.

Amongst his many accomplishments, Iorio developed the Web-Available Population Pharmacokinetic Software (WAPPS-Hemo). Healthcare professionals who treat patients with hemophilia can use the WAPPS-Hemo platform to collect advice from a network of approximately 500 hemophilia treatment centres worldwide to create a customized treatment and prevention plan for patients. The solution is a leader in its field and has been licensed to several pharmaceutical companies.
