Health Sciences first-years experience the excitement of Welcome Week 2024
Campus was abuzz with excitement last week as new McMaster Marauders were welcomed to the university as part of Move-in Weekend and Welcome Week.
First-year students joined in full schedule of events and programs that emphasized inclusion and belonging, student wellness and safety, and supporting every student in their transition to post-secondary academics.
Advice to my first-year self
Welcome Week reps for the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) spoke about their time at McMaster, sharing what they wish they could tell their first-year selves.
From using this time to join new clubs and try new activities, to being kind to yourself and prioritizing your health and well-being, the important thing to remember is that there is no right way to do your first year. Have fun and let go of what you expect the year to be.
How well do you know McMaster’s acronyms?
Is BSB a common McMaster acronym or a popular band name? Students in FHS were put to the test in a game of “Band Name or MACronym,” where we shared some tricky McMaster Health Sciences acronyms with student reps from the BHSc program, the Heartbeats (part one), and first-years (part two and part three).
