The Firestone Institute for Respiratory Health is pleased to announce that two new scientists, Sarah Svenningsen, PhD and Manali Mukherjee, PhD have joined our division as Assistant Professors. Both scientists did their post-doctoral fellowship in Dr Parameswaran Nair’s laboratory and their laboratories would be based at the Firestone Institute.

Dr Svenningsen, shown above-left, obtained her PhD from Western University in London, Ontario. A Charles Polanyi prize and Banting Fellowship awardee, her research focuses on developing and applying novel cross-sectional and magnetic resonance imaging technologies in lung diseases.

Dr Mukherjee, shown above-right, obtained her PhD from the University of Nottingham in the UK. She would lead a translational research program, funded by a CAAIF/CIHR/AllerGen/AZ award, to investigate autoimmune mechanisms in lung diseases and developing point-of-care biomarkers.
