PROFESSOR STEVE HALLIGAN

Professor Steve Halligan, Head of the Centre for Medical Imaging at University College London (UCL), is one of the best-known academic clinical radiologists in the United
Kingdom. His work focusses on the therapeutic impact of high technology imaging platforms in clinical practice rather than the usual technical impact. While an NHS consultant, his work on MRI in pelvic sepsis impacted directly on patient care and
subsequent work at UCL proved him able to deliver large, multi-centre, pragmatic randomized trials of imaging within the NHS.

Professor Halligan has published more than 400 indexed research articles, book Chapters, invited reviews etc. His h-index is 77, with more than 20K citations. Sixty of his papers have been cited more 100 times and several have won journal prizes for being the best published on the topic of gastrointestinal radiology.
