Educational Opportunities

The overall goal of the McMaster Demystifying Medicine Seminar Series is to bridge the gap between clinical care and science. We are convinced that collaborative synergistic research approaches involving physician and scientists are critical to make discoveries that will benefit tomorrows patients. We are aiming to create different educational courses that will be attached to the McMaster Demystifying Medicine Seminar Series. Please contact us here if you have any suggestions.

How could you contribute?

We seek help from interested students of all ages, patients and the public. The overall goal for our students is to take complicated concepts and make them understandable to a specifc target audience. The target audience could be a specific student population (high-school students, 5th graders, general public, or a specifc patient population. The big question is: how do we know that what we have made is understadable, informative, useful and maybe even enjoyable? To address this concern we have generated a "Draft Video" page. We will post videos that are "under construction" and have associated this page with an automatic form that allows viewers to record rankings and comments. The comments are then given back to the students making the videos, who will assess all feedback and attempt to improve their product. We have also included a section where the viewers can indicate specific topics that they would want our students to demystify.
