Demystifying Medicine Video

COVID-19 is caused by coronaviruses, the same subgroup of viruses that led to the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) outbreak in 2002-2003, and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) in 2012. Despite our previous encounters with similar coronaviruses, COVID-19 persists to pose challenges due to its unique characteristics.
This video serves to describe coronaviruses, distinguish between SARS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2, and MERS-CoV, while specifically focusing on the comparison between SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2. This video will also highlight progress in the development of a vaccine for COVID-19.
