Demystifying Medicine Video

Lyme disease is an infectious disease that is caused by the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi. It is passed onto the human host via the bite of a black-legged tick, otherwise known as a deer tick. Like any infection, this disease should get early treatment to avoid serious health complications.

This video promotes general awareness of Lyme disease. The general population needs to be aware that this disease, although highly treatable, can be very harmful to the human body. Always check yourself for ticks when hiking in the woods. Please be aware that eliciting the symptoms that are mentioned in the video does not mean you have Lyme Disease. Always consult with your doctor.
