As a way to avoid going for a run or going to the gym, many people have probably used the phrase "I'm allergic to exercise" as an excuse. However, many of us have probably never considered it to be something that could actually be true. Yet, being allergic to exercise is a real thing. The condition is called exercise-induced anaphylaxis (EIA) and is characterized by symptoms of a severe allergic reaction that occurs during or after physical activity. This video discusses food-dependent exercise-induced anaphylaxis (FDEIA) in which an allergic reaction occurs during exercise when a specific food is eaten before or after exercise.
