Lisa Schwartz, the Arnold L. Johnson Chair in Health Care Ethics,has been awarded the Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI) Teaching Award, Full-time/Joint Category, for the 2019-2020 academic year.
 


 


Arthur Sweetman recognized for research impact

Arthur Sweetman has been awarded the Faculty of Social Sciences’ Impact Award for 2020. The awarArthur Sweetmand is given to an individual or team whose research has had important:

• intellectual or academic impacts and/or

 • community, cultural, social and/or economic impacts


Vanstone honoured for contributions to medical education

Meredith Vanstone is the recipient of the 2020 Canadian Association of Medical Education (CAME) Meredith VanstoneMeridith Marks New Educator Award, which recognizes individuals in the first phase of their professional career who have made a significant contribution to medical education.


Graduate students recognize CHEPA members

Arthur Sweetman (shown right) and Terry Martens were honoured on Nov. 14, 2019 by McMaster’s graduateArthur Sweetman student association for their outstanding work.

The President’s Award for Excellence in Graduate Supervision was awarded to Sweetman, who is a Professor in the Department of Economics, holds the Ontario Research Chair in Health Human Resources and is a CHEPA member.

Martens received the Graduate Student Award for Contributions by Non-Academic Staff, which honours the extraordinary contributions that members of McMaster University’s support staff extend to its graduate students. She is the administrative assistant to several CHEPA faculty members and to the Health Policy PhD program.
