Please note that the use of the room and equipment in this booking calendar, as well as the poster printer, are for Biochemistry & Biomedical Sciences affiliates ONLY.

How do I go about printing a poster?

Please note: The online Booking Resource System is available within the university network only. When you are on-campus, you are already within the university network and will be able to access the Booking Resource System. When you are off-campus (at home or abroad), you may connect to the university network (and access the Booking Resource System) using the McMaster VPN (virtual private network) software. A MacID and password is required to use McMaster VPN.

Bring a USB key to HSC-4H21A. We have a sign up sheet to complete so we have your contact information and research account number for payment. We use glossy photo finish paper in 100 foot rolls. Our large format printer can print up to a maximum of 36" wide (depending on orientation). The printer is preset at (36” x 48”), however can be adjusted to print custom sizes.

Poster Printer Fees:

  • Black and white background($60)
  • Coloured background ($80)

What applications can I use to create a poster?

We can print research ‘posters’ done in PowerPoint (PC version). For MAC users, save as pdf file. Other graphic programs such as Quark Express / Illustrator / Indesign are not supported. It is important that posters be constructed to the size required for outputting. Posters should not be created in small sizes, and then blown up to full size, as quality suffers with the enlargement.

For questions regarding the poster printer, contact Lisa Kush at extension 22064 or kushl@mcmaster.ca.
